My name is Valerio Francini, I am 26 years old, born and raised in Rome. I am an independent director and screenwriter. I started young with analog photography, quickly growing passionate about cinema and storytelling.
In recent years I have written and directed music videos and short films — this is one of the latest projects I'm proud of, shot entirely on 16mm and Super8 film: maskara — ycon ydol. The video won Best Rock Video at the Europe Music Video Awards 2025, with official selections in Toronto, Tokyo and Rome.
I studied philosophy, a path seemingly distant from cinema, but one I chose to form myself as a person and nurture my vision of the world and reality.
